Utterly remarkable hand embroidered silk robe made in 1920s China for western export. This example is of an incredible quality, made of the softest silk and fully lined in amazing handprinted floral watercolor lining. The back of the robe is richly embroidered with floral and architectural motifs with areas of padded embroidery for a three dimensional effect. The edges are trimmed with braided silk threads tacked into place. Closes at the front with handmade frog closures. Incredibly special, and beautifully preserved!

Incredible near pristine condition! The embroidery is in marvelous condition with no signs of wear. There are a few very minor marks on the exterior that blend in almost completely, and one or two age spots on the lining that do not show when worn (see photos). Presents as mint when worn. Silk is very strong and supple.
